A general contractor is responsible for overseeing all of the materials and practices that will be used in executing the project plan, in keeping with all of the contract documents: the agreement, the budget, the general and special conditions, and the plans and specification of the project (prepared by an architect or other design professional). The general contractor is also responsible for supplying the materials, labor, equipment and services required for the project.
